CKM and Israeli Army Fighting System History
Before 1948 the fighting system used by Israeli army was KAPAP (Fighting face to face).
KRAV MAGA (Contact Combat) was the fighting system used by Israeli army after 1948. Imi Lichtenfeld (the founder of Krav Maga) left Israeli army in 1964.
After 1964 the Israeli army was following Imi’s KRAV MAGA concepts until 1973 when Moni Aizik (officer in Israeli army by that time) was put in charge of teaching the Israeli soldiers the combat system. Moni Aizik developed and updated that system into what is now known as Commando Krav Maga (CKM).
CKM was released as a system to be taught to civilians in 2004. Today CKM is growing and accepted in over 17 Countries World Wide by civilians and also professionals.
